HVAC Tech

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Accurately maintain records of labor time, parts used, and work accomplished  
  • Maintain and repair of HVAC, minor electrical, mechanical, minor plumbing, chillers, refrigeration, boilers and associated equipment  
  • Cleans HVAC&R coils and duct work as necessary                                          
  • Inspects and calibrate HVAC&R systems as needed  
  • Inspects and measures building systems to determine proper air flow  
  • Performs of all corrective and preventive maintenance duties related to HVAC systems.  
  • Keep all work areas, HVAC storage, and equipment clean, orderly  and free of all debris
  • Operate equipment used in the maintenance of conventions facilities such as forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts and other maintenance equipment.
  • Working knowledge of control programs and software including but not limited to the facility lighting control system, building management control system and ice plant refrigeration system
  • Per EPA regulations,  maintain refrigerant log to include the following: ,employee name, date, reason for loss or gain of refrigerant,  equipment serviced, corrective action taken and type and amount of refrigerant
  • Maintain a semi-annual inventory of trade equipment and supplies as required by MCCA
  • Assist Director of Arena Operations with capital projects as needed
  • Perform other duties as required 

SUPERVISION:

  • HVAC Apprentice

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in general maintenance and repair of HVAC or related building systems  
  • High School diploma or equivalent GED
  • Specialized training in the building maintenance of HVAC or related building systems  
  • Effectively communicate in English, both oral and written forms

PREFERRED:

  • Possession of or the ability to obtain  CPR certification
  • Possession of or the ability to obtain a MA hoisting license
  • BMS experience

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Valid  MA Refrigeration’ License-Required
  • Valid  EPA Universal Certification Required
  • Valid  driver’s license
  • Valid  Mechanical or EPA HVAC&R A-B license  
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of boilers, chillers and refrigeration 
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment 
  • Ability to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events 
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely in English 
  • Must have experience with large, water-cooled chiller systems, ice machines, water filtration and gas fired equipment 
  • Demonstrated ability to complete work in a timely manner 
  • Experience with digital controls and variable frequency drives a plus 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, contractors and facility users
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment

  • Ability to read and understand blue prints and schematics to repair/maintain equipment
  • Knowledge of EPA codes pertaining to the maintenance and installation of HVAC/Refrigeration systems

  • Operational characteristics, services, and activities of HVAC/refrigeration maintenance programs 
  • Repair and maintenance in various other maintenance related functions including minor plumbing, painting, trades and grounds keeping. 
  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service practices 
  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office applications  
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in meeting deadlines 
  • Familiarity and compliance with OSHA requirements  

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Ability to climb stairs and lift 40 lbs. unaided, must be able to be fitted for respirator equipment; work at height of up to 60’ in a boom lift and climb ladders required.  
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, days, evenings, overnight, weekends, holidays, extended work days and extended number of consecutive days 
  • Must be able to work indoors and out in the heat and cold
  • Ability and eagerness to work in a team-oriented maintenance department where daily work activities will include both tasks within and outside of specific trade disciplines 
  • Comply to all Relevant federal, state, and local regulations

Tech Entertainment - On Call

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Entertainment Tech is responsible for operating and maintaining all audio equipment. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and company policies, practices and procedures.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Set up and tear down convention meeting rooms for all A/V needs (sound, lighting, projection, etc)
  • Operate the lighting console at main stage
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum three years of experience working in showrooms and/or convention meeting rooms as a stage technician / A/V technician in a large or small resort
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays

PREFERRED:

  • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting

Tech Utility - On Call

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
As an Operations Utility, you will set the stage for guest experience with your welcoming smile and service. By understanding their unique stories and needs, you will own their experience to create WOW memories they will carry with them far and beyond their stay with us.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Set chairs, bleachers, carpeting, portable flooring, hockey dashers, ice making, etc. as directed
• Store equipment in pre-designated areas
• Perform minor maintenance on equipment used for setting and striking events
• Maintain the highest standards to ensure the quality and cleanliness in the arena, convention spaces, public areas, offices, and other areas

Electrician

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Repair, install, replace and test electrical circuits, equipment and appliances using necessary hand tools and testing instruments
  • Inspect and test electrical lighting, signal, communication and power circuits and equipment
  • Isolate defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment, using suitable testing instruments
  • Examine and test elements of electrical systems to locate obvious faults, such as blown fuses, short circuits, broken wires, loose connections, and worn motor brushes
  • Replace faulty switches, sockets, plugs, fuses, insulators, and other simple elements of electrical systems, fixtures and appliances
  • Renew circuits either by isolating and cutting defective wiring and replacing it with new wiring, or by splicing ends of broken wires
  • Replace defective equipment parts such as gears, bushings and bearings and other related electrical parts
  • Perform routine inspections of the facility lighting and electrical equipment and replace lamps and repair as necessary
  • Report discrepancies or necessary to follow ups to supervisor
  • Perform and/or manage the installations and break downs of electrical services for events
  • Perform duties and responsibilities with a view toward department goals and energy conversation
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, shop drawings, schematic manufacturers specifications and other reference materials to determine appropriate job requirements and procedures
  • Prepare and submit requisitions for materials required to complete assigned tasks
  • Plan work to ensure cost effective use of labor and materials
  • As required, estimate materials needed and record time and materials expended on each work order
  • Perform other general maintenance related tasks including plumbing, painting, trades and grounds keeping
  • Operate equipment used in the maintenance of conventions facilities such as forklifts, floor scrubbers, scissor lifts, and other maintenance equipment
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Perform regular testing of emergency generator and emergency lighting as required by code and record testing in logbooks.
  • Keep all work areas, electrical storage, electrical panels, floor boxes and electrical distribution closets clean, orderly and free of all debris
  • Working knowledge of control programs and software including but not limited to the facility lighting control system, building management control system and ice plant refrigeration system
  • Assist Director of Arena Operations with capital projects as needed
  • Maintain a semi-annual inventory of trade equipment and supplies as required by MCCA
  • Perform other duties as required

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Three (3) year’s electrical experience
  • Possession of a Valid Massachusetts Journeyman’s electrical license/ Master Electrician’s license
  • Possession of a Valid Boom lift, scissor lift and single man lift certification
  • Possession of a Valid MA Driver’s license -required
  • High School diploma or equivalent GED
  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in meeting deadlines
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, contractors and facility users

PREFERRED:

Public Safety Officer - Part-Time

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

This position is responsible for maintaining a uniformed presence at various posts both inside & outside the MassMutual Center.  As directed, patrols assigned to ensure all employees, visitors, guests, clients, contractors and business partners are authorized, while providing a safe environment.  Personnel shall serve as a visual deterrent, intervene and respond to all levels of security and potential life safety issues.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Maintains an alert, positive, welcoming, and approachable demeanor.
  • Performs all duties in a professional, productive manner with the aim of delivering a superior level of customer service to ensure a successful event and experience for the client, visitors, and attendees.
  • Responds to questions and requests from visitors, clients, contractors, and business partners by providing appropriate information/directions in a patient, efficient and courteous manner.
  • As assigned by a public safety manager(s), conducts patrols of MassMutual Center or staffs assigned post.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge and understanding of each Public Safety post, daily operating procedures, and the facility’s emergency operating procedures; executes on those established procedures as required.
  • Assists with event security as required or directed by Public Safety Manager(s) and event services department.
  • Provides a public safety presence and acts as a visible deterrent to crime and threats of potential violence.
  • Responds to emergencies as necessary or as directed, rendering aid and assistance as required and in accordance with established public safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a high level of situational awareness and diligence to duties. Takes action to immediately correct and / or immediately report suspicious activity and potential threats as required by the Public Safety Department
  • Maintains assigned equipment (radios, uniforms, etc.), reporting lost or damaged equipment to the public safety manager(s).
  • Reports all incidents, accidents, and / or medical emergencies immediately to the public safety manager(s).
  • As directed, responds to alarm activations, including security, fire and intrusion alarms.
  • Utilizes facility’s video surveillance system, building access control system, and radio communications
