Boomer's Block Parties All April Long
The Springfield Thunderbirds are taking the celebration outside this April with Boomer’s Block Party, a three-part outdoor event series at The Landing at the MassMutual Center. Each Saturday’s Block Party leads directly into a Thunderbirds home game, giving fans and the community a full afternoon and evening of energy in downtown Springfield. The series will culminate on April 18 with a large-scale Fan Appreciation Block Party in partnership with the Springfield BID.

Kicking things off on Saturday, April 4 from 3:00–6:00 PM, Boomer’s Block Party begins with a festive Easter Egg Hunt. Families can enjoy a spring afternoon featuring Boomer, mascot and character appearances, and interactive activities designed for all ages.
The celebration continues on Saturday, April 11 from 3:00–6:00 PM with a special Semi-Quincentennial Block Party in honor of the United States' 250th anniversary. In partnership with the Springfield Armory and Explore Western Mass, the event will feature historical reenactors and themed experiences that bring the city’s history to life in a fun and engaging way.
The series wraps up on Saturday, April 18 from 3:00–5:00 PM with the Community Bank–sponsored Fan Appreciation Block Party, presented in partnership with the Springfield BID. This final celebration will feature live music, giveaways, and a high-energy sendoff for Thunderbirds fans, highlighted by a live performance from [INSERT BAND NAME].
Each Boomer’s Block Party will feature food trucks, drinks and cocktails, lawn games, music, and entertainment, creating a lively outdoor atmosphere at The Landing — the MassMutual Center’s newest gathering space in downtown Springfield.
While the Block Parties are free and open to the public, fans can continue the experience inside the arena, with tickets still on sale for all three Saturday Thunderbirds home games at the MassMutual Center.
