SPRINGFIELD, MASS. (March 18, 2021) -- USA Gymnastics Region 6 is pleased to announce the return to LIVE Regional Competition at the MassMutual Center – Springfield, MA.

“The Level 9/10 Regional Championships will be held on April 23 -25, 2021. Athletes from this event will qualify to the Level 9 Eastern Championships [College Park, GA] and the Level 10 National Championships [Daytona, FL]. Additionally, the Level 7/8 Regional Championships will be held on May 1 – 2, 2021. Region 6 is comprised of the New England States and New York. We look forward to offering the athletes; coaches and family members a safe return to competition.” said Kathy Ostberg, USA Gymnastics Region 6 Chairperson.

We thank Governor Baker and his staff for his leadership and guidance throughout this pandemic and for allowing us to move forward in a safe and healthy fashion. We wish all of the athletes and teams much success.” said Sean Dolan, General Manager of the MassMutual Center. The long-standing relationship and continued collaboration between the MassMutual Center and USA Gymnastics played a key role in securing the necessary approval from the Department of Public Health.

“Throughout the pandemic our team at the MassMutual Center has maintained the venue in the pristine condition that we have all been accustomed to and there is no better facility to welcome USA Gymnastics back to competition,” said David Gibbons, executive Director of the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority. “We look forward to welcoming the athletes to Springfield and the energy and activity they and their families will bring to the region this spring.”

USA Gymnastics Region 6 is critical to the continued development of youth gymnastics. The MCCA’s MassMutual Center is one of only several large venues within the Commonwealth to accommodate such competitions.
